On December 20, 2022, The Israel Philharmonic performed a historic concert in Abu Dhabi at the invitation of the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Culture. The program featured Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 23 in A major, K. 488, with Lahav Shani as conductor and soloist, followed by Mahler’s Symphony no. 1, also conducted by Lahav Shani.
In addressing the audience, Maestro Lahav Shani warmly said, “I cannot even tell you what it means to us – the successors of the founding members of the orchestra, who wanted only to live in peace – to be here with you tonight, sharing music with you, communicating together, all of this during Hanukkah – the Jewish Holiday which is all about light.”
For a limited time, you can watch the concert here or on the Israel Philharmonic’s YouTube Channel.
