Brad Annis was born and raised in Wisconsin and is a graduate of the Interlochen Art Academy. He has a bachelor’s degree in history from Stanford University and a master’s degree in double bass from Indiana University Bloomington, where he studied with Lawrence Hurst. While a student, he was a member of the music center in Tanglewood and music school in Aspen. Brad has also played in the orchestra of the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, and in Spoleto, Italy. In 1990, he was appointed the first bass player of the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva, with he also appeared as a soloist. In 1992 became a member of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Zubin Mehta. Since 2004, he has been a member of Virtuosos of Tel Aviv ensemble, which brings together the musicians of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed in Israel, the US, South America, Canada, and Europe and has recorded two albums.
