In honor of Israel’s 77th Independence Day celebration, we are delighted to share with you this Israel Philharmonic concert from the archives.

Watch Leonard Bernstein conduct the IPO with soloist Itzkah Perlman from the Independence Day celebrations of 1968. The performance includes Paul Ben-Haim’s “Violin Concerto,” and the Israeli premiere of Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms” with the Rinat Choir and featuring boy alto soloist Daniel Sixik (later known as Daniel Oren).
