About Kobi Halperin
One of the world’s foremost fashion designers, Kobi Halperin was born and raised in Israel, where he earned his BFA from Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. Upon graduating, Kobi moved to New York where he became the Executive Creative Director at Elie Tahari for 13 years and the Executive Creative Director at Kenneth Cole Productions for 3 years. In 2015, Kobi launched his eponymous ready-to-wear label and was soon invited to be part of the CFDA. Kobi also started designing for French label, UNGARO. For the women who “celebrate getting dressed every day,” Kobi is known for his unique designs and love for details. Deeply inspired by his Eastern European heritage, Kobi’s collections are marked with a feeling of warm tradition, luxurious fabrics, and handcrafted touch. Last year, Kobi’s New York Fashion Week runway show signified a message of light and hope to the world. Showcasing a Shabbat-themed collection, models walked to the music of traditional Jewish prayer songs, concluding with "Hatikvah," Israel’s national anthem. Kobi’s other passion is mentorship and developing the future of fashion. He actively cultivates fashion students at his alma mater and at the Savannah College of Art and Design. His favorite position is serving as a role model to his two daughters, Mika and Gali.
The Music Director position is generously endowed by The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation.
