About Beverly Cohen

As owner of the celebrated Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Beverly Cohen made the hard climb to success from unlikely roots. She grew up with her hard working, divorced mother and Yiddish-speaking grandparents on a farm in Cleveland, Ohio where she worked 12 hour days to support the family. What she lacked in a formal education she made up for in street smarts and an iron will. At age 13 Beverly moved to Los Angeles where her mother opened the first kosher chicken business. That same year, Beverly met the ebullient Robert Cohen (“RC”), and it was love at first sight. Beverly wed Robert at age 16, and they were together for 71 years until his passing in 2023. She and Robert have been blessed with three children, a son-in-law and daughter-in-law and 10 grandchildren. All great achievers, these children fill their parents with pride and pleasure.

A businesswoman, humanitarian and philanthropist, Beverly has dedicated her time and resources to many organizations and causes that move her, including children’s charities, breast cancer research, and Jewish organizations. As a staunch friend of Israel, Beverly contributes to Israel’s strength and success through her involvement with several organizations, including the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic, Sheba Medical Center, Sephardic Education Center, the Rhodes Historical Society, and the Israel Film Festival.

American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic is proud to be honoring Beverly, at the 2025 Los Angeles Benefit Event, for her incredible philanthropy and her commitment to and support of the preservation and promotion of Jewish culture and history.
