Galas, Benefits, and Special Events

“Anywhere the IPO plays, a whole new dimension permeates the audience at each and every concert, spreading the word about the face of Israel that very few people know.”  – Zubin Mehta

In celebration and support of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, every year American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra hosts Gala Benefits in New York and Los Angeles.  These events, which are major fundraising occasions for our organization, might feature Maestro Zubin Mehta and the entire Israel Philharmonic Orchestra – a vibrant ensemble of over 100 musicians – a section of the orchestra, or select members who are joined by renowned soloists.  Guest artists at past events have included Itzhak Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, Yefim Bronfman and Gil Shaham.  Pre-and-post concert receptions and dinners make each and every Gala an enchanting, elegant evening and promise patrons an exceptional and memorable encounter with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra that is anticipated annually.

American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra hosts Galas in many tour cities, which have included Miami and Palm Beach, Toronto, San Francisco, Chicago and Cleveland. Special fundraising events are held in private homes of Board Members and members of our National Council.  These more intimate gatherings can be in the form of delightful musical soirees or delectable musical brunches.

Complementing American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra Galas are benefits that are held in Israel and internationally.  American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra patrons receive invitations to support these festivities as well.

Successful Galas have a direct and vital impact on the financial strength of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.  Proceeds ensure the orchestra’s excellence in its musical artistry, education and outreach, and singular role as Israel’s cultural ambassador.
