Bonn, BeethovenFest and Berlin

The tour “heats-up” beginning in Bonn; everyday a concert in a new city: Bonn, Berlin, Wroclaw, Milano and Rimini. In Bonn, where Beethoven was born, we were guests at the BeethovenFest where the orchestra performed Mahler’s Ninth Symphony.   

From Bonn we flew to Berlin.  Backstage at the Philharmonie there was no lack of conductors: Kurt Masur, Daniel Barenboim and Omer Meir Welber came to visit Zubin and orchestra members. There were also musicians who teach and perform in Berlin. Many of the younger generation of IPO members studied in Berlin and it was an opportunity for them to make contact with friends.
